Young Church
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

We welcome families with children to come to our Church Service at 10.30 on a Sunday morning and have groups and facilities for all ages. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Parents are encouraged to attend the service but if your child is over 5 you can drop them off at church for the Service at 10.30 and collect them after the service at about 11.30.<\/p>\n

For children under 3<\/strong> there are toys available in church, with an area on the right side near the Hub, where parents can sit with the children as they play during the service. There is also the \u2018Well Room\u2019 just behind the church where there are toys and a safe place for children to play. Once they are confident you may be able to leave them with volunteers while you return to enjoy the service.<\/p>\n

For Children 3 -11 <\/strong>there is Cookie Club. <\/strong>They will be taken out after the first part of the Service for their own session. We meet in room 2, and as the name suggests share biscuits! The children are able to: share their news, sing, listen to a bible story, play games and enjoy craft activities. At the end of the service the children can be collected from room 2 and join their family, and other members of the church, for a drink and more biscuits!<\/p>\n

For young people over 11 <\/strong>there is Biscuit Club. <\/strong>(As you may guess biscuits are involved, often made by the young people themselves). This group meets twice a month. On the 2nd<\/sup> Sunday of the month, they start in the Service in Church at 10.30 and then leave to have their own session, usually in the Hub. On the 4th<\/sup> Sunday Biscuit Club have an evening meeting in the Hub from 5.30 to 7pm. They will share reflections on a chosen topic followed by time to chat and share snacks. On the other Sundays, they are encouraged to join in the Church Service and some of them take an active part by operating the screens, or sound system, as well as greeting people and sharing readings or prayers.<\/p>\n

Other Activities<\/strong><\/p>\n

During the year the Young Church can be involved in other activities, such as plays and presentations in Church at Christmas, Easter and the Young Church Anniversary in May. There is a weekend every Autumn when Young People from all over Britain gather together at \u20183Generate\u2019 for a variety of activities. In 2021 eight of our Young People travelled to Birmingham for the weekend. We also arrange occasional picnics, after church, for families in a local park or sometimes in one of the halls when the weather is not so kind.<\/p>\n

Holiday Club<\/strong><\/p>\n

In previous years we have organised a Holiday Club during the summer holidays for children aged 5-11. This has taken place over one week, with activities, related to a theme every morning from Monday to Friday. One day we take the children for a picnic in the afternoon and have games outdoors. They then help to lead the service on the Sunday to share, with parents and the congregation, what they have been doing during the week.<\/p>\n

All adults working with the children have DBS checks and have attended safeguarding training.<\/strong><\/p>\n
